Coach Thomas Ramirez was the head coach of the 17 Crossfire Team and the assistant coach of the 16 Crossfire Team during the 2017-2018 season.  He will be the head coach of the CC Force 16 Crossfire Team for the2018-2019 season!!!

He was born and raised in Refugio, Texas. He began his volleyball career training at Spike Sport Volleyball Club in Houston, Texas. While at Spike Sport he trained as a Libero/DS with the 18U team. During his years at Refugio High School he was the varsity volleyball manager and practice player. His love for the game was inspired by Refugio Head Coach Selina Hemphill who pushed him into coaching the sport.

Thomas attended college at Texas A&M Kingsville. He was a part of the Kinesiology-Education program and also was a part of the Health & Kinesiology Club. While at TAMUK, he played on the men’s club team. His team traveled to play against club teams across the state of Texas. He was a practice player and student assistant for the women’s volleyball team. He continued his volleyball career playing for the NAGVA league in the BB division and also continues to play in various competitive tournaments.

Thomas comes to Corpus Christi Force with 7 years of coaching experience. He moved to Austin, Texas in 2013 and was offered the job as Head Volleyball coach at Waldorf High School. While in Austin, he coached for Austin Juniors Volleyball Club. While at AJV he coached 14 Cedar Park, 15 Navy and 15 Cedar Park. He also was able to work under Olympic gold medalist Misty-May Treanor for her volleyball camps she offered at Austin Juniors. Thomas eventually moved back to Corpus Christi, Texas where he began coaching club at CC Storm Volleyball. While at Storm he coached the 18’s team both years and was  heavily involved in the recruiting for his senior athletes. During his 2016 volleyball season a Storm, he helped 6 of his athletes fulfill their dreams of playing volleyball in college.

During his years of club coaching, he has led many of his teams to success. He has medaled in over 40 tournaments since he began coaching, and has qualified for the Junior National Championships. He has lead his teams to medals at some of the top tournaments in the country, including the following…

With a 100% college placement rate, Thomas works extremely hard in helping his players get recruited to play at the collegiate level. He has helped a handful of girls reach their dreams of playing volleyball in college.

Aside from club volleyball, Thomas also has camp coaching experience. He has coached at many different camps across the state. He has coached 4 years at The University of Texas summer camps training and coaching with some of the best coaches in the country. He has also worked college camps at TAMUCC, TAMUK, Texas State, and St. Edwards University. During club season he works the USAV High Performance tryouts and also works the player showcase at the cross court classic. Thomas also runs his own summer volleyball camp back home in Refugio, Texas to help the girls prepare for two a days and summer training.

Away from volleyball, Thomas works at Christus Spohn Shoreline in the Emergency Room where he is apart of the trauma team.  When he is away from the court he enjoys spending time with family, working out and traveling.
